Themis Medico-Legal was founded by orthopaedic surgeon, Dr Mark Shaw. Dr Shaw is a distinguished expert witness, whose wealth of experience and commitment to excellence have established him as a trusted authority in his field. With around 30 years of practice as an orthopaedic surgeon, Dr Shaw has consistently honed his skills and refined his methodologies, resulting in reports that are not only comprehensive, but also meticulously crafted to withstand rigorous scrutiny in legal proceedings. His dedication to ongoing professional development ensure that his insights remain up to date, while his unwavering commitment to accuracy and integrity instils confidence in the reliability of his testimony. Dr Shaw launched Themis Medico-Legal with a vision to reshape the medico-legal industry. By personally welcoming new colleagues to this avenue of work, Dr Shaw’s extensive expertise and experience ensure new expert’s are mentored into the industry with confidence and support.

Dr Shaw brought some of his most experienced expert witness colleagues and long-term dedicated staff to found the Themis team. Our team has now expanded to include over 70 individual experts and specialists across 35 medical and allied health specialties prepared to deliver exceptional reports and provide unparalleled service as we continue to grow and reshape the industry.

The Themis Medico-Legal team is comprised of experienced medical experts, dedicated management, an experienced in-house legal and quality assurance team, and exceptional administrative staff. Our legal team bring over 30 years of experience across all aspects of compensation law, including core personal injury law, medical negligence, TPD and superannuation, for both defendant and plaintiff clients. This diverse background contributes invaluable insight to every matter and plays a vital role in training and supporting our medical experts, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of medico-legal report writing, court procedures, and the delivery of expert testimony.
